Lionel Messi's dad hits out at 'fake' reports and 'lies' about son's situation

Lionel Messi's dad hits out at 'fake' reports and 'lies' about son's situation

Messi has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and a return to Barcelona recently, and also a falling out with PSG's manager.

Lionel Messi's dad isn't happy with the news around his son, hitting out at the 'fake' reports and 'lies' after the forward missed training this week.

Messi may want to miss Paris Saint-Germain's game with Rennes on Sunday evening, with fans preparing to protest the seven time Ballon d'Or winner, and his teammates.

It comes in the wake of their latest last 16 elimination in the Champions League, this time at the hands of Bayern Munich last week.

All is not well within the club either, with the Ligue 1 leaders potentially having to get rid of Messi and/or Kylian Mbappe to keep up with UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules.

With all that going on, it's no wonder that the 35-year-old has been linked with a move away from the French capital, especially with his contract expiring in the summer.

He has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, with the country ready for him to match Cristiano Ronaldo's ridiculous wages, and rewrite the laws of the Middle East state in order to bring he World Cup winner over.

That departure seemed more likely due to reports of a falling out between the forward and PSG boss Christophe Galtier this week, seen as the reason the player left training early.

However, now Jorge Messi has hit out at those claims on social media, taking to Instagram to say, "How long are they going to lie??? Where are the tests??? Ahhh what is it all fake... OK!!!

"For many what to put I don't know believe nothing... WE ARE NOT GOING TO TOLERATE MORE INVENTIONS TO GAIN FOLLOWERS."

It's not completely clear whether the 65-year-old was complaining about the reports of the falling out, or everything that's being said about his son's future.

Jorge hasn't helped those rumours, recently meeting with Barcelona president Joan Laporta, as well as being spotted in Saudi Arabia.

On their meeting, Laporta said, "I met Jorge Messi yes. We talked about the World Cup and a tribute match for Leo.

"He's at PSG right now, so I don't want to speak about whether or not he could return."

The club president has more on his plate right now, as well as their usual financial problems, the Catalan giants are facing potential relegation, after being charged over alleged corruption, despite being nine points clear in La Liga.
