Jack Grealish reveals FC Copenhagen goalkeeper questioned if Erling Haaland is 'human' after Champions League brace

Jack Grealish reveals FC Copenhagen goalkeeper questioned if Erling Haaland is 'human' after Champions League brace

Erling Haaland struck twice in Manchester City's 5-0 thumping of FC Copenhagen.

Jack Grealish reveals FC Copenhagen's goalkeeper questioned if Erling Haaland was human after he bagged a brace in Manchester City's 5-0 Champions League thumping.

After bagging a third consecutive Premier League home hat-trick in the 6-3 win over Manchester United on Sunday, City's number nine helped himself to a further two on Wednesday.

Haaland opened the scoring in the seventh minute before notching his 19th goal of the season later on in the first half.

He was taken off at half-time and given a deserved rest ahead of the Premier League clash with Southampton on Sunday.

Kamil Grabara, Copenhagen's goalkeeper, actually had a fine showing at the Etihad Stadium and it could have been a cricket score had he not pulled off a slew of brilliant saves.

But the Polish shotstopper was in utter awe of Haaland's deadly finishing, telling Grealish "he's not human" after the former Borussia Dortmund man found the net.

City's No.10 revealed the exchange in a brilliant post-match interview after he produced a Man of the Match display.

"It's unbelievable honestly. I've never witnessed anything like it in my life," Grealish told BT Sport after Haaland's heroics.

"For the first and second goals I was just laughing. He is always there. The keeper said something to me as I was walking back. He said 'he's not human!' I said 'you're telling me?' Hopefully he can carry on this form and take us to glory."

Davit Khocholava put through his own net to make it 3-0 to City, who added two more in the second half - Riyad Mahrez striking from the spot before Julian Alvarez got in on the act.

Even Pep Guardiola continues to be in amazement over Haaland, producing a priceless reaction to his second goal when he gestured to the Norwegian and looked on in disbelief.

Recent reports in Spain claimed that Haaland has an exit clause in his City deal which allows him to leave for Real Madrid.

The story came after his father, Alf-Inge, stated his son wishes to challenge himself in all the major leagues in Europe.

However, Pep Guardiola emphatically denied such a clause exists.

In his press conference, the City boss said: "It's not true. He has not got a release clause for Real Madrid or any other team.

The rumours and people talking, we cannot control it. I always worry about what we can control.

"What's important is he has adapted really well, we have the feeling he is happy here. We will try with him and all of them who want to stay to make them happy."
