Frenkie de Jong was caught taking a flight to London, with just days left of the transfer window, amidst interest from Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool. You can see De Jong taking his flight in the video below.

It has been an extremely long summer when it comes to De Jong's potential departure from Barcelona, having first been linked with a move to United in May.

The will they/won't they between the two parties hasn't exactly been a Ross and Rachel type affair, with De Jong never really showing much interest in leaving his current club.

Despite United's desire to sign the Dutchman, and the desire from Barca to let him go in order to not have to pay him the £17 million they owe him and to cut their wages, there isn't too long to make him change his mind.

Erik ten Hag's side aren't the only team who have been linked with the former Ajax star, with Chelsea also having held an interest for several weeks.

Liverpool have also been named this week, after Jurgen Klopp revealed he got his transfer policy to not sign a midfielder wrong, in the wake of his side's loss to United.

De Jong taking a flight to London with just days to go of the transfer window will certainly catch the attention of fans of the Premier League sides.

He could be having talks with any of the three clubs in the capital, especially with Chelsea being based there and United's offices also there.

The 25-year-old's trip is part of a four days off that he has been granted by his current team, but it isn't necessarily for transfer talks.

According to reports, the 25-year-old is off to the UK in order to meet up with a former Ajax pal, it's not Ten Hag, but instead Donny van de Beek.

The United midfielder, who still isn't getting the chances expected under the new United boss, is set to get married this week and De Jong, along with fellow Barcelona star Memphis Depay, has been invited.

There could well be some other players from the Old Trafford side, and possibly even Ten Hag, in attendance so there could be some tapping up to come.

Transfer dealing in the north west isn't done yet, with Antony's move set to be completed and Martin Dubravka is expected to join on loan from Newcastle United.

They have also been linked with a potential move for yet another Barcelona player formerly of Ajax, with a swap deal between Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Sergino Dest reportedly on the table.
