England Suffer Embarrassing 4-0 Defeat At Home To Hungary

England's last four games have been on Channel 4 and Gareth Southgate's side have not won any.

England continued their woeful run of form with a humiliating 4-0 defeat at home to Hungary in the UEFA Nations League.

The Three Lions are still yet to pick up their first win in this year's competition and were badly beaten by Hungary for the second time in ten days.

England fell to a 1-0 loss in Budapest on 4 June and then drew back-to-back games against Germany and Italy.

Gareth Southgate's men were looking for their first victory of the campaign at Molineux but the game ended in embarrassment following a brace from Roland Sallai, a stunning strike from Zsolt Nagy and a late dink from Daniel Gazdag.

It's been a wretched international break for England and fans on social media have been calling for Southgate's head as a result.

In the stands, supporters chanted "You don't know what you're doing" after Southgate brought on Harry Maguire for Bukayo Saka following John Stones' sending off for a harsh second yellow card late on.

The Euro 2020 finalists have now gone over SIX hours without scoring a goal from open play and can only be grateful that this year's World Cup is in November and not imminently given the shape they are in.

Tuesday night's defeat was the worst for 12 years and led to loud boos and jeers when the final whistle was sounded.

Winless England are bottom of Group C with just two points from four games after the worst run of Southgate's reign.

Club football will resume before England return to Nations League action on 23 September in Milan against Italy, who suffered a damaging defeat themselves having gone down 5-2 to Germany.

England then host Germany at Wembley in their final Nations League group game three days later, just under two months before they begin their World Cup tournament against Iran at the Khalifa International Stadium.
