Passing Drill Erik Ten Hag Mastered At Ajax Proving Too Difficult For Manchester United Players

Manchester United started pre season training under Erik ten Hag last Monday.

Manchester United players are struggling with a drill that manager Erik ten Hag used whilst managing Ajax

The new United boss started pre season training with his players last Monday as the Dutchman looks to implement his ideas across as soon as possible.

Ten Hag is famed for his passing style of play that was so often seen from his former side Ajax. A style that made the Amsterdam club one of the best football teams on the eye.

During his first interview as United boss, Ten Hag said it is important to win whilst playing good football, he will be using this pre season to turn his team into a side that plays fast and attacking football.

Footage has emerged showing Ten Hag putting his United players through the motions on the training pitch and comparison has been made to his former side already.

The video shows the players being involved in a one touch pass and move drill.

But it soon became clear that Ten Hag and his coaching staff were less than happy with the players’ performances.

In the video, Ten Hag and his staff were often heard shouting “On the right foot…on the left foot..” as his players struggled to master the concept of the exercise.

Ten Hag eventually shouts: “Making too many mistakes.”

Since the footage emerged online, another video has surfaced, the new clip shows Ten Hag’s Ajax side doing the same drill, and the difference is vast.

The Ajax players looked much more fluid in their movements and their passes were so much more precise and crisp. The intensity was on another level compared to what the United players produced.

It is safe to say Ten Hag will need some time to transform the United playing style.

And fans were quick to spot the difference as they took to social media to make fun of the United players.

One fan tweeted: “Wow the difference is mental.”

Another one said: “Looks so good when executed well…he’s got a lot of work to do with these lot though.”

And a third said: “Looking at this and looking at ours, I can say we are not close but we cant give up either.”

Away from the pitch, United have multiple issues to sort out, they are still working hard to bring in more new signings after the club completed the deal to bring in Feyenoord defender Tyrell Malacia

And then there is the small matter of resolving the future of Cristiano Ronaldo, the player wants to leave but the club doesn’t want to sell. Who will get their way? Only time will tell.
