Chelsea Manager Thomas Tuchel Responds Directly To Man United Rumours

Thomas Tuchel has been linked with the Manchester United job.

​​Thomas Tuchel has responded to rumours sensationally linking him with the Manchester United job amid Chelsea's ownership crisis. 

​Tuchel has emerged as a shock contender to become Man United's next permanent manager. 

The Old Trafford club are thought to be tracking his situation at Chelsea, with the 48-year-old believed to be part of a five-man shortlist to take over from Ralf Rangnick.

But the German boss has dismissed speculation linking him with Man United, saying he's fully committed to the Stamford Bridge outfit. 

Asked about the Man United speculation, Tuchel replied: "No reaction at all. Do you feel me less committed to the club or less involved in the club in my situation?

"I think absolutely not, I love to be here and I love to work for Chelsea.

"This club has everything it needs to make me happy and that's why it's no need and we have plenty of reasons to stay in the moment here and that's what we're doing," he added.​

Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard last season and guided the Blues to immediate success, winning the Champions League.

But his future has come under scrutiny following the UK government's sanctions on outgoing owner Roman Abramovich.

Jamie Carragher urged Man United to make a move for the former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain coach. 

However, Gary Neville reckons Tuchel will remain at Chelsea despite the uncertainty surrounding the club. ​

"I think Thomas Tuchel will stay," he said. ​

"With Chelsea, we’ve seen the reports over the past 24 hours, they are going to swap one multi-billionaire for another, so they are not going to be weaker from a financial point of view.

"If he is settled there, he’s got a good team, he’s achieved success, I don’t think he’d leave if the new ownership came in - and obviously all the restrictions were removed – and gave him the right support on building a project.

"I think when new owners come into a football club that is a really exciting time for a manager because he will be able to exploit the fact that they are going to need to put money into the team and new owners have to put money into the team. 

"That’s the first thing fans look for them to do – are you going to support the football side of the business? I think that’s what they’ll have to do in the summer, so they might get £150m-£200m off the new ownership."
