Arsenal closing in on the signing of Jorginho hasn't gone down well with their fans as they've taken aim at Edu.

The Gunners had been interested in signing Moises Caicedo from Brighton as they look to bolster their ranks ahead of the second half of the season.

They've already snapped up Leandro Trossard from Brighton having missed out on Mykhailo Mudryk, who joined Chelsea earlier this month.

And, again, it appears Arsenal are recruiting their second-choice target having failed to lure Caicedo to the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta is on the verge of bringing in Jorginho from Chelsea, with the Arsenal boss playing a key factor in the transfer.

A deal of £12 million has been agreed, with personal terms also agreed ahead of a deadline day move.

But the thought of the Italy international switching Premier League allegiances doesn't sit well with some Arsenal fans.

They've hit out at sporting director Edu as they bemoan the signing of the experienced midfielder.

One Twitter user wrote: "This is a joke, I can't believe we are doing this. #EduOut."

A second tweeted: "Shut the f**k up for real though or leave this platform I'm tired of this positive outlook on everything. Arteta walks away now if we lose the league u know that right? How the f**k can't a club like arsenal miss out on 11 prime targets within 2 years. Embarrassing #EduOut."

A third added: "#EduOut we want our Arsenal back not Jorginho."

A fourth said: "*Arsenal linked to 28 yo Trossard* HE DOESNT FIT OUR POLICY, HES TOO OLD

*Arsenal linked with 30 yo Jorginho* (same player they called shit last time we was linked to him)

IF ARTETA WANTS I WANT HIM, I BACK IT #EduOut."

A fifth commented: "From Mudryk to Trossard (I do like Trossard but still very disappointing). From Caicedo to Jorginho. #EduOut."

What's your take on Jorginho's proposed transfer to Arsenal? Let us know.
