Formula One fans are worried for Lewis Hamilton after hearing his last radio message during the Hungarian Grand Prix.

In the four-week summer break, McLaren star Lando Norris crossed the finish line in first ahead of of teammate Oscar Piastri and Mercedes driver George Russell.

After an impressive lap Saturday's qualifying session, Ferrari star Charles Leclerc started the race on pole position, but ultimately couldn't keep up and missed out on a podium finish, crossing the line fourth.

Meanwhile teammate Hamilton had yet another disappointing race weekend, finishing the race in 12th, the same position that he started in after being eliminated in qualifying during the second session.

The lacklustre result marked the first time that Hamilton finished the Hungarian GP outside of the points, and it's clear that this wasn't lost on him as fans pointed out his worrying post-race radio message.

Following his poor performance in qualifying, the seven-time world champion claimed that he was 'useless' and the deflected blame for his disappointing 2025 season away from Ferrari.

And it appears that he has once again done just this after Sunday's race as he took to the team radio to apologise to his colleagues.

He said: “Really sorry about this weekend guys, for losing you points.”

Although Hamilton taking the blame for his own poor performance is commendable, it has left many fans of the Brit and of Ferrari as a whole concerned about his future at the team.

Reacting to the message, one fan wrote on X: "Ferrari, please make sure that he never has to apologise again."

Another added: "Champions apologise even when they don’t have to. That’s why he’s different."

While one suggested that Ferrari were also partly to blame, writing: "The team need to take some responsibility for this. Stopped Lewis too early where he could have gone further then had fresher tyres for the last quarter. Again PPP from the team!"

Hamilton will now have four weeks to assess what has gone wrong for him in recent weeks before returning for the Dutch Grand Prix in late August,

Having signed a multi-year deal with Ferrari which began this year, it is widely expected that the 40-year-old will once again race in red next season, despite his recent comments.

However, should Ferrari decide to sack Hamilton to replace him with another driver, or should he decid to retire, then this could still change.
