One driver has been forced to pull out of the final morning of F1 pre-season testing in Bahrain.

All 10 teams are entering the final day of the three-day test at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Williams driver Carlos Sainz topped the timesheets on day two ahead of the Ferrari pair of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.

Sainz's time was already quicker than the fastest lap in 2024 testing, with the track expected to ramp up again on day three.

Track conditions in Sakhir have been different to what teams are used to, with colder temperatures and even light rain at points during the two days.

During the first two days, the two full-time drivers in each team have been sharing testing duties.

But one team were forced into a late schedule change after one of their drivers pulled out.

Aston Martin's Lance Stroll will no longer drive the car on Friday morning.

The Canadian was due to drive his 2025 car in the morning to complete his testing programme, but has been replaced by team-mate Fernando Alonso.

Stroll finished sixth in the timing charts on Thursday. His personal best lap time was a 1:30.229.

An Aston Martin team statement on Friday morning read: "Overnight Lance wasn't feeling 100%. Fernando will now drive the car this morning and we'll confirm our lineup for this afternoon in due course."

In a fresh update, it has been confirmed that Stroll will be back in the car during the afternoon season, meaning he won't miss out on any running.

In the event of the team having needed a replacement, Aston Martin reserve driver Felipe Drugovich is at the Bahrain International Circuit and would likely have filled in during the afternoon.

Stoffel Vandoorne is their other reserve driver and has previous F1 experience with McLaren, but is competing in the World Endurance Championship.
