After over five years of service as a Manchester City player, Gabriel Jesus has completed a £45 million move to Arsenal.

Signed at just 19 years of age, Jesus was instantly a hit in East Manchester, with his persistent energy an attribute that attracted Pep Guardiola.

He leaves the Etihad Stadium with four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, four Carabao Cups and two Community Shields in hand - a phenomenal trophy return.

Jesus played a major part in every single success and his 95 goals speak volumes about the supreme talent he posses in front of goal.

Despite all this, the deal does feel right for all parties and a fresh start under the guidance of Mikel Arteta may reignite his career in England.

As part of his emotional farewell, Gabriel Jesus was speaking to CityTV and reflecting on his time at the club - beginning by talking about what it has been like to be a Manchester City player.

He said: “Well, I’m so glad to have been a part of a big project, from the beginning, when I accepted (the offer), when I spoke with Pep (Guardiola) and believed in him, the team, and the club."

"After these five or six years here, I think I took the right decision in my career and my life."

Jesus continued, "Sometimes it is like this, you have to move on, you have to try something new, another place to be happy as well. But I think we, as a team, we did so well in these almost six years together."

"I cried, I loved, I lost, I won as well. I am very, very, very happy more than sad.”

The 25-year-old then went on to talk about his improvement as a player since joining at such a young age and what he has learned from his time at the club.

“I was 19 when I came. Everything was new for me."

"Today, I feel at home. Today, I can talk. Today, I can go out because I know the country. I’m going to miss Manchester a little bit because I’ve spent almost six years here and I know everything."

"I think I’m a better player and a better person as well.”

One thing that is always praised by fans and pundits alike is the incredible squad harmony at the Etihad. Jesus is a big part of that and is often seen teasing and joking with his teammates.

On the pitch, however, Jesus was a real competitor and always gave 100% when called upon. A lot of that is down to Guardiola, someone who he says plays a completely unique brand of football.

“I came at 19, I was so young - I’m still young of course," the Brazilian said.

"I didn’t know anything about football when I started to play here. I started to train with him (Pep Guardiola), with the guys - I was thinking, ‘I know football’. But this is a different type of football."

Jesus concluded: "I learned a lot, I was so happy here, in my time here. I’m glad to have been part of this history.”
