Ryan Garcia is keen to show the world that he's the fourth best pound-for-pound fighter in the world on Saturday night when he takes on Emmanuel Tagoe live and exclusive on DAZN.
'King Ry' comes into the fight unbeaten after 21 bouts, the latest being a devastating seventh round knockout win over Luke Campbell back in January 2021.
Garcia is wary of the experienced Tagoe, but fully believes he will show everyone he's at the top of his game at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday.
"The number one pound-for-pound fighter is Canelo, then it's Terence Crawford. Third is Chocolatito [Roman Gonzalez] then it's me," said the American.
"I make sure I train as hard as I can. I make sure that I don't lie to myself when I'm training so I understand the type of things people are going to bring when they are going to fight me because they know the opportunity they have.
"They know if they beat me, they have a big name in boxing automatically, so I don't take anybody lightly.
"I expect him [Tagoe] to be the best he can be when he steps in that ring, but just know that he'll figure out that I am different in there."
The Ghanaian Tagoe has suffered just one defeat from 33 professional bouts and comes into the fight on the back of a win against Mason Menard in November 2020.
The 33-year-old knows he's coming up against a tough opponent but believes he will show everyone that he has what it takes to come out victorious.
"Everybody talks about how Ryan Garcia is good. I respect Ryan Garcia a lot. By Saturday night, he feels very bad. I promise you. I promise everyone," said Tagoe.
"I can't wait for Saturday because I'm here to showcase myself. I'm here to prove to everyone that I'm the best. I use Ryan Garcia to showcase myself to prove to everyone and see that I'm the best."
You can stream the Ryan Garcia vs Emmanuel Tagoe card and many more live and exclusive on DAZN for £7.99 per month, with coverage beginning at 2am Sunday UK time. Head to DAZN.com to find out more.
