Chelsea wing-back Marc Cucurella has hinted at staying beyond his six-year deal at the club after arriving from Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 24-year-old arrived for a fee totalling £63 million earlier in the summer transfer window and has made an instant impact.
Registering his first assist in his first start for the Blues in their draw against Tottenham Hotspur, Cucurella was at the centre of controversy when Cristian Romero pulled him to the ground by his hair but was not dismissed, leading to Spurs scoring their second goal deep into injury time.
Speaking to the press this week, Cucurella refused to complain about the incident and insisted he had no problems with Romero.

He said: "For me it's no problem (hair pull).

"Before the game I speak with him. I have no problem. It's only one action in the game. Maybe an important action because it changes the final result.
"We have another opportunity (to beat Spurs)."
The Spaniard then continued to discuss his arrival at Chelsea, being handed a bumper six-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
This aligns with Todd Boehly’s strategy to tie up younger players to long-term deals, with the desire to offer up to seven-year contracts to players under the age of 25.
When asked about signing for six years, Cucurella admitted that there is no pressure on him and hinted at extending his stay beyond his initial contract.
"You need some years to adapt,” he continued. “I am not pressured, in my mind it is not six months.
“Work hard, play for the team, enjoy football. It is only papers. I am happy here. Maybe I'll stay more years!"
The Spaniard finalised by reiteraiting how please he was to make the move to Chelsea following a summer of interest from Manchester City and the Blues.

He concluded: "A busy one (summer)! A lot of rumours. I think it was a good moment to move to a big club. Chelseais a big club. Very happy to stay here. Interested in me all summer.
“Happy to stay here. "I'm very happy because it's a lot of money, Todd (Boehly) and the gaffer showed so much interest in me.
“I want to work hard, adapt to the team, to win and play good for the club."
Chelsea face Leeds United at Elland Road on the weekend, with Cucurella hopeful of reclaiming his spot ahead of Ben Chilwell at wing-back.
