Veneer to Charm Leopardstown rivals.

For many today is about heading to your polling station and helping shape the future of Britain's political system under a Theresa May or Jeremy Corbyn administration so I urge each and every one of you who reads this to vote.

However, let's also try and find some winners in the horse racing world. The NAP landed at a juicy 7/4 yesterday and we're hoping for more of the same today. Racing takes place over the jumps at Bangor-on-Dee, whilst on the flat, Haydock, Ripon, Carlisle (evening) and Sandown (evening) host meetings. Leopardstown stages a flat meeting in Ireland.

Here are Danny Archer's selections...

Wirral to be my Girl at Carlisle

3:20: Bangor-on-Dee - Barrys Jack 5/1.

Brian Ellison's charge was fourth last time out but that race probably came to soon and the rain expected to hit the track today will suit. The booking of Brian Hughes is also a major positive.

4:20: Bangor-on-Dee - Be My Sea 15/8.

Finished second at Kempton last time and that looks strong form. He has to carry plenty of weight but looks worth supporting.

4:50: Bangor-on-Dee - Holryale 4/6.

Dan Skelton's five-year-old scored a tad cosily last time and whilst he has plenty of weight to carry, the 7lb claimer should definitely be in his favour.

6:10: Carlisle - Wirral Girl 6/4.

You cannot help but be impressed with the way Richard Fahey's two-year-old newcomers have started the season and this daughter of Kodiac was bought for 1000,000GBP earlier this term. Related to some speedy types, she could go close first time out.

American to hone his Craft at Haydock

7:45: Carlisle - Stararchitecture 15/8.

Well-bred son of Mastercraftsman who has finished third on both occasions. That included a creditable effort at Nottingham last time over an extended mile and this slight step up in trip is definitely in his favour. William Haggas does well with the horses he sends up North and that makes this three-year-old of strong interest.

2:10: Haydock - American Craftsman 9/1 Each Way.

Ground shouldn't be a massive worry and he was impressive when finally getting his head in front last time. A 6lb penalty looks fair and his current rating might just underestimate him.

2:40: Haydock - Big Time Maybe 9/4.

Tom Dascombe's charge was unlucky not to land the spoils at Bath on his debut as he broke very smartly and was only caught close home. The two-year-old son of Dandy Man had no real chance from a very tough draw in the Lily Agnes at Chester last time. He had to race wide and expended far too much energy early on. This track should suit and he looks more than capable of winning a race like this.

Hope Springs eternal with Forth at Ripon

2:30: Ripon - Springforth 7/2.

Softening ground looks a real positive for Richard Fahey's charge who finished a fine second last time, staying on well in the closing stages to only finish a length behind the improving winner.

3:30: Ripon - Two For Two 10/1 Each Way.

Ran well to finish second over course and distance in April and just struggled at York in an ultra-competitive heat last time. The ground is a slight worry but he should hopefully deal with it and looks worth supporting.

Around to make a real Splash at Sandown

6:00: Sandown - Validator 8/11.

Did the business very professionally at Thirsk last time and with Ryan Moore aboard and with the ground hopefully not a problem for this two-year-old daughter of Kodiac, she is taken to land the spoils.

6:30: Sandown - Splash Around 6/5 NAP.

Heavily punted this morning, Sir Michael Stoute's charge kept on well to take second behind an impressive winner at Newbury last time. The form of that race has strength in depth and with softer conditions likely at Sandown, he can take advantage of what looks a fair mark of 79.

7:00: Sandown - Me Too Nagasaki 9/1 Each Way.

Jeremy Noseda's son of Iffraaj was only fourth at Wolverhampton last time but he was held up that day and endured a troubled passage. The return to turf looks a positive and he has won on rain-softened ground. That makes him look decent each-way value in a cracking race.

7:35: Sandown - On To Victory 9/4.

Eve Johnson-Houghton's charge was a decisive winner on soft-ground at Leicester last time and he didn't go un-backed that day. He looks capable of going close again off his new mark.

8:40: Sandown - Carol 9/2.

Ed Dunlop's filly was a creditable second at Nottingham in May after being in front that day. The slight drop in trip is therefore a massive positive as he just seemed to tire inside the final furlong, that makes him of strong interest here.

Veneer to Charm Leopardstown rivals

6:50: Leopardstown - Making Light 6/4.

Dermot Weld's charge was beaten by subsequent English and Irish 1000 Guineas winner Winter on her racecourse debut. Since then, the daughter of Tamayuz scored in a maiden and then landed the spoils nicely in a Group Three event at Leopardstown. That looks strong form and she looks sure to go well again.

9:00: Leopardstown - Veneer Of Charm 5/1 Each Way (1/4).

Michael O'Callaghan's charge won nicely last time when well punted to land the spoils. He has been raised 12lb but has a useful 7lb claimer on which is a massive boost. He should go very close once more.
