We take a look at the best bets as the Tour De France hits stage six

The big names turned up on Stage 5 and Team Sky's Chris Froome moved into the race lead when finishing third behind a lively Fabio Aru. We return to flatter roads on Stage 6 and there's finally some value in Marcel Kittel.

It's long and flat tomorrow and as usual we'll see a break go away in the morning. They'll be caught in the final 15km and the finish is as flat as they come. All signs point to a sprint.

For those keen on following the route, Stage 6 heads west as we move away from the border to the town of Troyes. But that's enough about French geography - how can we make some money?

Powerhouse Marcel Kittel is a standout 11/10 with Paddypower. When they opened up the market he was 6/4 but only a few got on before they panicked and changed it.

Nevertheless, it's still the best price he's been all race and other bookies are refusing to move past Evens. The German is the fastest in a clean finish and after Tuesday's mayhem I think we'll see a fairly straightforward sprint.

The usual suspects are set to challenge. After his victory, Arnaud Demare has been cut to an unattractive 5/2 and I don't think he can beat Kittel unless there's an incident. The same goes for Andre Greipel.

Regular readers will be waiting for me to mention Michael Matthews and at 33/1 he still offers some good EW value. His chances of making the podium improved after Peter Sagan and Mark Cavendish both left the race.

The same can be said for Ben Swift's chances. He was going okay when brought down on Tuesday and is an eye-catching 150/1 with Coral if you fancy a longshot.

I'll be back on the head to heads today and Bet365 have a good selection online. Matthews should beat Sonny Colbrelli again, whilst Nacer Bouhanni is good value at 8/11 to get the better of Alexander Kristoff. Katusha are putting big faith in Kristoff but Bouhanni should have the beating of him in a big bunch sprint.

The Verdict

Kittel at 11/10 is too good to refuse. He's the best sprinter in the race and only bad luck can stop him from winning. I'm also backing the head to head double on Bet365. Matthews > Colbrelli & Bouhanni > Kristoff pays 2/1.
