Man Utd set to secure bargain deal for Sofyan Amrabat after Fiorentina name ‘asking price’

It's a bargain price.

Manchester United could sign Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina at a bargain price this summer.

The Old Trafford club have prioritised the signing of a striker, upon the £60million arrival of Mason Mount and £47million acquisition of Andre Onana.

Atalanta’s Denmark international Rasmus Hojlund remains United's priority attacking target, but the club are reluctant to pay any more than £60million for the 20-year-old, who has made less than 90 senior appearances.

United netted 58 goals in the Premier League last season - the lowest among the top six sides - yet the Premier League outfit are thought to be reluctant to meet Atalanta’s £86million asking price for Hojlund.

Elsewhere the club are also said to be targeting another midfield arrival, with Amrabat a name that has been frequently linked.

And if reports are to be believed United could sign the Morocco international for a bargain price.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Old Trafford club are ready to formalise an offer for Amrabat of around €25million (£21.4million)

Meanwhile, Gazzetta dello Sport have also claimed United and Fiorentina are close to agreeing a £21.4million deal for the 26-year-old, adding that Amrabat is keen to join Ten Hag's side.

Indeed, the Italian club have reportedly accepted Amrabat will leave, with plans to replace him already underway.

And fans on Twitter are stunned by the asking price reportedly required to lure Amrabat away from the Serie A outfit.

One person said: “Way too low. Worth triple that.” Another claimed: “Fiorentina wanted £65million when Barca were interested.”

A third wrote: “Fiorentina shouldn’t accept that, way too low.”

Amrabat’s price tag seems particularly low given TalkSPORT have claimed United have slapped a £40million asking price on Scott McTominay, amid interest from West Ham.

The Scotland international is among a series of fringe players United are looking to move on, with Harry Maguire, Fred and Donny van der Beek having all been linked with moves elsewhere.

Furthermore, the club allowed academy product Anthony Elanga to depart for Nottingham Forest for £15million, with Dean Henderson also linked with a move to the City Ground.
