Sheff United fan 'kidnaps' Erling Haaland to stop him from scoring this weekend

Sheff United fan 'kidnaps' Erling Haaland to stop him from scoring this weekend

The Sheffield United fan hilariously explains why he's 'kidnapped' Erling Haaland.

A Sheffield United fan has hilariously 'kidnapped' Erling Haaland ahead of their FA Cup clash against Manchester City.

Championship outfit Sheff United face Man City in the semi-finals at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

The Blues are fresh off beating Bayern Munich as they booked their spot in the Champions League semi-finals.

Haaland scored in his side's 1-1 draw on Wednesday to bring up his 48th goal in all competitions.

The Norwegian phenom will be looking to add to his incredible goal-tally if he starts against Sheff United.

And ahead of the cup showdown in London, a Sheff United fan has pulled an amazing stunt on social media, joking that he's 'kidnapped' the 22-year-old superstar.

The video shows a person approaching the Sheff United supporter, who explains his decision behind 'kidnapping' Haaland.

With a dummy lying in the boot of his car, he reveals his plans of taking him to his pal's garage to prevent a 'cricket score' at the weekend.

Needless to say, the Haaland skit that has gone viral on social media got people online talking.

One Twitter user joked: "Premier League defenders all suddenly taking notes..."

A second wrote: "Looks like Erling Haaland will be missing for the game at Wembley at the weekend."

A third added: "That’s absolutely incredible."

A fourth tweeted: "Absolute genius... deserves an Oscar."

Another commented: "Can you go back for Grealish and Mahrez too."

Pep Guardiola, though, could rest Haaland ahead of Man City's huge league game against Arsenal next Wednesday.

But if he does face off against Sheff United, he'll come up against fellow countryman Sander Berge, who has opened up about his friendship with the goal-scoring machine.

"I speak with him every day," he revealed. "He's been over to Sheffield a couple of times and I went over to see the Bayern Munich game last week and I stayed over at his house. It was incredible to watch that game.

"He is a fun guy to catch up with and it is even better to play against him. I have been up against him before and it has not gone so well in the Champions League so hopefully it will this time."
