Barcelona have completed their third signing of the summer transfer window.
The club have already reinforced their squad by landing Ajax's Frenkie de Jong and Atletico Mineiro's Emerson. They've now secured the services of Ludovit Reis from Groningen.
Reis, 18, will join Barcelona's B side after signing a three-year deal in a transfer worth €3.25 million (£2.9 million).
The young midfielder has a huge €100 million (£88 million) release clause.
The Dutchman joined Groningen's youth academy in 2015 and he eventually broke into the first team where he played 50 games.
Groningen's technical director Mark-Jan Fledderus has hailed the club's youth policy following Reis' transfer to Barcelona.
"It is a compliment to all levels within the club," he said in a statement. "The youth scout recognized the specific qualities of Ludovit four years ago and managed to persuade him to come to Groningen.
"There the trainers in the training went to work with him and they helped him in his further development. Ludovit subsequently had the opportunity to show himself at a very young age from the staff around the first selection.
"Thanks to the excellent facilities at the TopsportZorgCentrum, among other things, his development has gone at a furious pace. With the ultimate reward being the interest of Barcelona and its final transition."
Barcelona remain in the market for new talent. They continue to be heavily linked with Antoine Griezmann who'll leave Atletico Madrid this summer.
Not to mention Ajax's Matthijs de Ligt. The 19-year-old defender is expected to leave Amsterdam with a host of clubs keeping tabs on him including the Spanish champions.
