Teamsheet from 2017 FA Youth Cup final is full of absolute ballers and recognisable names

Teamsheet from 2017 FA Youth Cup final is full of absolute ballers and recognisable names

The 2017 FA Youth Cup final was contested between Manchester City and Chelsea and the talent on display was incredible.

A teamsheet from the 2017 FA Youth Cup final has been doing the rounds on social media and it is one of the most stacked lists of talent ever seen.

Manchester City and Chelsea dominated youth football at the time and this was their third consecutive meeting in the final.

They played out a two-legged affair, with the first leg taking place at City's Academy Stadium.

It finished 1-1 and the amount of sheer talent on display is quite remarkable looking back.

So many have gone on to achieve great things in the game, proving that the academy model from both clubs has been a success.

City's starting XI included the mercurial talents of goalscorer Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho and Brahim Diaz and it is quite something that City had the trio in their ranks at the same time.

The latter two moved on, while Foden made the grade at City and could be about to lift a sixth Premier League title.

Goalkeeper Aro Muric is Burnley's No.1 at the moment, while striker Lukas Nmecha is a Germany international.

And a notable name on the bench is Jeremie Frimpong, who has just helped Bayer Leverkusen win the Bundesliga for the first time.

On the opposite side, Chelsea's back four contained Reece James, Marc Guehi and Trevoh Chalobah.

And further up the pitch, Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi lined up alongside one another.

Conor Gallagher was a substitute on this occasion but has since gone one to captain Chelsea and represent England.

Chelsea stormed to a 6-2 aggregate win after a dominant second leg performance at Stamford Bridge and won the trophy for a fifth year in a row when they hammered Arsenal 7-1 in 2017/18.

City finally knocked off Chelsea in the 2019/20 final and are looking to win the Youth Cup for the fourth time when they take on Leeds United at the Etihad Stadium this Friday.
