Just hours after Arsenal scraped past Swedish minnows Östersunds FK on Thursday night, it was confirmed that Arsenal will travel to the San Siro for the first leg next month.

Arsene Wenger's side have been drawn against arguably one of the best sides left in the Europa League based on current form.

Milan, who are currently struggling in Serie A, sit 25 points behind leaders Napoli but manager Gennaro Gattuso has somewhat transformed their form of late.

The Italians are on a 11 match unbeaten run in all competitions, recording four clean sheets in a row against the likes of Lazio and Sampdoria.

Arsenal will also admit to underachieving in the league, sitting in sixth, 27 points behind leaders Manchester City.

To be honest, it has been a difficult few years for both teams but the last time Arsenal met AC Milan in a European competition, both sides looked very different.

AC Milan knocked four past Arsene Wenger's side at the San Siro thanks to goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robinho and Kevin Prince Boateng, as Clarence Seedorf lead his team to victory.

That game is one of only four European games that Arsenal have lost by a margin of four or more goals.

Arsenal did score three first-half goals in the second leg, but could not complete the comeback in an epic Champions League round of 16 clash.
