Manchester United fans think former Manchester City midfielder Frank Lampard has hit the nail on the head when it comes to the Alexis Sanchez transfer.

As presenter Jake Humphries stated at the start of the clip, many people's issue has been whether Alexis gave his word to Pep Guardiola's side before agreeing to join their rivals.

Former Chelsea and Manchester City midfielder Lampard, however, gave his own thoughts on the matter and some may be surprised to hear that he agreed with Sanchez's decision to join United over his former club.

Listen to Lampard's thoughts from 0:55 onwards. Do you agree with him?

"It is not as if he's turned down City to go to China, like other players." Lampard told BT Sport.

"He's gone to one of the biggest, if not the biggest club in the world in Manchester United. If you look at it the other way, of course there's money involved, but it's more of a challenge.

"Here at Manchester United there's no doubt that they need an uplift - they're 12 points behind. He could be that man."

In other news relating to Lampard, the former Chelsea midfielder gave his honest opinion on his former club's transfer targets this week.

In fact, many think the former England international has once again hit the nail on the head with this one:

"I think both of those players would be a short-term or Plan-B sort of signing, I don't think we're looking at either of those players in the long-term," he told talkSPORT.

Chelsea - What would have been without the millions:

"No disrespect to them, because they are very good at what they do, but I don't think Chelsea are going to be going down that route. There is obviously an issue with scoring goals recently, so they're in a position where they need to something, but I think January is not the time.

"Maybe they are just trying to get themselves through to the summer and they'll look forward from there.
