Arsene Wenger said earlier that the swap deal involving Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan is 'likely' to happen, but the Armenian's latest Instagram post has caused confusion amongst fans.

Pictured at the Carrington training ground earlier today, Mkhitaryan is snapped smiling with his Manchester United teammates.

The caption 'fun times at training today' caused people to question the current transfer situation.

The fact that this is Mkhitaryan's first Instagram post since being linked with a swap deal to Arsenal certainly raises questions.

Will he leave Manchester United for Arsenal? Plenty on social media began to question the deal shortly after he posted the picture:

As we mentioned earlier, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez's move to Manchester United will 'likely' happen in the next 24 hours.

The Arsenal manager also revealed that Henrikh Mkhitaryan wages are 'not a problem.', but he couldn't resist aiming a sly dig at Pep Guardiola's Manchester City during an eventful press conference on Thursday morning.

Jesse Lingard announces the signing of Alexis Sanchez in his own special way...

"I do not want to comment on the numbers they offer to Sanchez. I respect United because they raise the money they pay to players with their own resources." Wenger said, presumably aiming a dig at Manchester City's oil money

"It's up to them how much they pay. United is a club very well managed financially so I don't have a problem."

Wenger also revealed that he has worked on transfers 'for 30 years', but says these transfers are never 'guaranteed'

Do you think Mkhitaryan will swap Old Trafford for the Emirates? Is this a twist in the transfer saga?
