Ronaldo Nazario has told the hilarious story of Real Madrid hiring security to stop him partying - with the guards eventually joining in.

The Brazilian superstar joined Madrid in 2002 and while he was an extraordinary talent, he also enjoyed a lavish lifestyle off the pitch.

'R9' would regularly party in the Spanish capital and in an interview with Jorge Valdano, he revealed how much it annoyed president Florentino Perez.

"Florentino would put those of his own security at the door and you would haggle them all the same," Ronaldo begun per Marca.

"I ended up dribbling them too. Some even joined the parties!

"There is a legend about it all, more than what it really was.

"Sometimes I maybe partied too much, but it wasn't really like that. I've always been very responsible and I've always tried not to hurt my body."

The 43-year-old went on to confess he only partied when Madrid had won... But winning came naturally to a team full of 'Galacticos.'

"Yes, after winning matches I did like to celebrate... and since we always won that was a problem!

"But there is much more to the legend than the reality.

"It was a spectacular time. Real Madrid and Madrid is the best combination of city and team that one can find in life."

Ronaldo spent five years with 'Los Blancos' and netted 104 goals in 177 games.

Former teammate Ivan Helguera detailed his wild lifestyle off the pitch earlier this year and explained 'buses of girls' used to arrive at his parties.

"[David] Beckham, [Zinedine] Zidane and [Luis] Figo were great professionals," the Spaniard begun.

"Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos, on the other hand, liked to go out a little more. But they certainly didn't do it every night.

"It happened if we played on a Saturday and, if we won, we all went out to celebrate. But it is absolutely not true that we went out on Friday or Saturday before important games.

"I remember a birthday party at Ronaldo's house, which he later sold to Sergio Ramos, where buses full of girls began to arrive. I was with my wife and we decided to leave, as did Figo.

"Another party when we won La Liga. It was also massive. I stayed late for that one.

"Ronaldo was like that."
