Aymeric Laporte ruthlessly trolled Arsenal after they suffered a crushing 3-0 defeat at the Emirates on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Manchester City thrashed Everton 3-0, with Ilkay Gundogan scoring a stunning brace - including an outrageous flick goal.

They can now be crowned Premier League champions on Sunday when they host Chelsea at the Etihad.

And the Man City team can 'smell' the league title, with Laporte taking to social media to mock the Gunners.

A Man City fan responded to Laporte's post by tweeting: "It’s home already."

To which the Spain international replied: "No no never, we still have to work for it."

Laporte's post on Twitter sent social media wild as Man City supporters loved the defender's upload, while Arsenal fans bemoaned The Rock-inspired gif.

One Twitter user wrote: "Cannot believe you Tweeted this."

A second tweeted: "Nahhhh this why you're the best CB ever mate."

A third added: "Aymeric Laporte is a certified troll, it's just that he has to keep it professional."

An Arsenal supporter commented: "Players always dunk on us like this and we rarely ever get our licks back. Very annoying."

Laporte started in his side's 3-0 victory at Goodison Park as the Blues close in on their third league title in a row and their fifth in six seasons.

Pep Guardiola's also remain in the FA Cup and Champions League as they seek to win the treble.

They meet cross-town rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final next month and face Real Madrid next week for a spot in the Champions League final.
