Diego Maradona? Nope. Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? Think again. Dele Alli has named his dream teammate, and he's even got a name for the duo.

Alli has been a revelation for Spurs since signing from MK Dons. His goals from midfield have been instrumental for his club, which has rewarded him with a regular spot in the England fold.

He bagged 22 goals in all competitions last season, and he's made an impressive start to the new campaign.

But after guiding Spurs to victories in the league and in Europe, Alli now turns his attention to the intentional scene as England play out their two remaining World Cup qualifiers.

England host Slovenia on Thursday night before facing Lithuania on Sunday as they seek to secure their spot in the 2018 World Cup.

However, Alli is unable for selection for the Wembley Stadium fixture after receiving a one-match ban for his middle-finger gesture.

Ahead of the games, Alli sat down with Soccer AM to speak about his fantasy teammate and an area he wishes he was naturally better at.

"Pele. [He's better than Maradona]. They'd call us Pele Dele," Alli said when asked about the player he'd like to play alongside with the most.

Alli added: "My pace. I'd like to be really quick. I'm not slow, but I'd like to be real quick like Usain Bolt."

Meanwhile, last year Pele named Alli and his club colleague, Harry Kane, as players who represent the next line of stars for England.

"Some young players like Harry Kane, Dele Alli represent the new generation for the England national team," the Brazilian said via Mirror.

Expect Alli to regain his spot when England play Lithuania on Sunday.
