Dele Alli was reunited with his former manager Mauricio Pochettino while appearing on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football.

Fans loved the incredibly wholesome moment between Dele Alli and Mauricio Pochettino on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football coverage.

Alli was drafted in as a guest in the studio alongside Jamie Carragher to watch his Everton side travel to Chelsea.

The England international is still contracted to the Toffees, though he hasn't made a single appearance for the club this season due to injury.

He provided insight on the dismal 6-0 defeat to Chelsea, as well as his thoughts on the weekend's action.

However the best and most enjoyable moment of Alli's debut was when Pochettino, his former coach, was whisked in for his pre-match interview.

The Argentine was previewing the upcoming game for his side but was overjoyed at greeting Alli.

After watching him on the tele in his manager room, Pochettino said: "I want to say hello to Dele, what a player, oh my goodness! So happy to see you!"

As Pochettino couldn't see him, host Dave Jones informed the former Paris Saint-Germain boss that Alli had a beaming smile on him.

And given what Alli has been through, fans couldn't help but see his face light up at the sight of the man who got the best out of him.

One fan wrote: "This tells you all you need to know about both men. Absolutely beautiful stuff."

A second joked: "This is the happiest Poch has been since he took over as Chelsea manager

A third said: "Literally sobbing take me back to 2017."

Another user commented: "I'm not crying you are."

A final person added: "So wholesome."

Alli produced his best form under Pochettino, winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award in back-to-back seasons and scoring a combined total of 32 goals in his first two campaigns.

He left Spurs for Everton on a free transfer in January 2022 but has featured just 13 times in the Premier League for the Merseysiders and spent part of last season on loan at Besiktas.

After seeing his emotional interview with Gary Neville in the summer, Pochettino admitted he "didn’t finish the interview because it was so painful" and hoped to give him a "big hug" when they met up again.
