The figure is surprisingly low.

Joao Felix's salary has been leaked online and it is surprisingly low compared to the rest of his teammates.

Felix joined the La Liga giants on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day following a public fall-out with Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid.

The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Chelsea, but struggled to turn the London club's fortunes around.

However, he has hit the ground running with Xavi's side, scoring three goals and providing three assists in eight appearances across all competitions.

Barcelona's financial issues have been well documented in recent years, with the club activating 'economic levers' to help manage their debts, which are reportedly in excess of £1 billion.

These levers include the selling of assets such as merchandise income and future TV rights, while ensuring they are able to operate in the transfer market.

However, concerns around Financial Fair Play has clearly had an impact on Felix, whose annual payslip has been leaked online.

Reports in Spain have claimed that the Portuguese forward has an annual salary of €400,000 (£345,000) at the Camp Nou.

That figure equates to £6,635 per-week, which although seems like a vast amount to the majority, is small fry compared to many players at the elite level.

Indeed, according to Capology, teammates Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski earn more than Felix's annual salary in just a week.

While summer signing Ilkay Gundogan reportedly rakes in €18,750,000 per year.

The publication claims that Felix, who was desperate to move on from Atletico, was required to accept a decreased wage initially in order to get the deal done.

However, his contract includeded a stipulation that his salary would be increased once Barcelona's financial status had improved.

With the situation now better off, Felix's annual wages are set to bump up by 8900% to €4million (£3.45million) for the rest of his loan.

Nevertheless, his new salary of £66,345 per-week is still dramatically less than the €280,000 per-week (£250,000) contract he was allegedly earning at Atletico.

The change in salary is not set to impact Barcelona's FFP issues after the club's vice-president Eduard Romeu confirmed the change, hailing Felix's professionalism.

He told Spanish outlet L'Esportiu (quotes via the Daily Mail): "It’s true, Joao Felix has reduced his salary to €400,000 (£345,000) to join. It is the case of a person who has made a very important effort to join.

"It's very nice to see this from a guy who was probably not at his best at his club, but here he has been magnificent.

"Make no mistake about it, however, the club that gave Felix to us has an interest in this being a great showcase. Hopefully, at the end of the year, we will have the conflict of having to consider his continuity."
