All new 'Stop Ball' tackle has been added to EA Sports FC 24, it's a game-changer

The new feature looks like it will make a monumental improvement to the way in which you defend on EA Sports FC.

An all new tackle has been added to EA Sports FC 24 and it promises to be an absolute game-changer going forward.

The new game, which is the first since the long-time partnership with FIFA ended, will be released on September 29 and although the premise is the same, there are a number of new changes as we head into an exciting new era.

Women will now be featured in Ultimate Team, Crossplay is now finally a thing in Clubs after all the clamouring and there's even a second commentary pairing fans can choose to use if they aren't enjoying Derek Rae and Stewart Robson describing the action.

Details on gameplay differences have been emerging recently following on from trailer reveals and one shrewd addition should prove very popular.

As highlighted by content creator, Fi7plays, who described it as a "much needed change", EA have introduced the "stop the ball tackle".

It's primarily been brought in to stop the ball rebounding to the opponent during a slide tackle as now there will be the opportunity to keep hold of possession and send your team on the attack.

Just imagine Virgil van Dijk or Ruben Dias winning the ball back in satisfying fashion before launching a swift counter.

The mechanic looks promising and according to the EA pitch notes, the developers have added hundreds of new challenges, such as 'back heel slides', blocks and even new animations for 'Seal Outs' and 'Shoulder Challenges'.

There's also been the complete removal of chipped threaded through passes as a result of EA introducing the 'Precision Pass' - which can be executed by pressing RB+Y or R1+ triangle.

The new mechanic for this looks like it suits creative geniuses like Kevin De Bruyne and Trent Alexander-Arnold and can be enhanced with LT or LB thrown into the button combination as that adds swerve into the mix.
