FIFA 18's Worst Rated Player Isn't Even A Real Footballer

Who is Tommy Käßemodel?

With FIFA 18 having been released a month ago, everyone's had enough time to suss out who the best teams to play as are, who to avoid like the plague and which unpolished gems are the beauties of career mode.

But what of those players who no one ever wants to play as? Those players stuck at the bottom of the ratings pile, forgotten about like the cold fries that have spilled into your McDonald's bag.

Ten players are tied for last place on a rating of 46 on the latest edition of EA Sports' footballing behemoth. Included in this bottom 10 are Grimsby Town's Max Wright, Scunthorpe centre-back Lesley Sackey and a German midfielder by the name of Tomm Käßemodel.

Käßemodel operates as a central midfielder for German second division outfit FC Erzgebirge Aue. At least that's what EA Sports would have us believe, anyway.

In reality, it turns out that while Käßemodel is on the books at Erzgebirge as a member of the first team squad, he isn't actually a professional footballer. Or even a semi-professional footballer.

In fact, this low scoring maverick is in fact the club's kit man.

What Erzgebirge have done is met the requirements that are enforced on German clubs to have at least four members of their first team squad be graduates of the club's youth academy.

Now, while I told you that Käßemodel is the club's kit man, he was also once a member of Erzgebirge's youth academy, meaning he qualifies as an eligible graduate who can be included in the club's first team squad and therefore also be eligible for his own virtual likeness on FIFA 18.

With pace of just 23 and shooting and passing rated at just 42 and 48 respectively, Tommy isn't going to see much action on the game, although with defensive stats of 36, he could still likely do a job at the heart of Liverpool's defence.
