Liverpool Fans Are Now Complaining Manchester City Are 'Buying' Favourable Cup Ties

Goal-line technology's fault? Check. Grass too long? Check. Manchester City buying favourable cup ties? Yep, according to Liverpool fans.

If Liverpool fans were not setting up a petition to review goal-line technology, then they were more than happy to blame their 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on the length of the grass.

Just when you think you've heard it all, the Liverpool faithful have outdone themselves again.

A fan-made Twitter account has actually suggested that the reigning Premier League champions are 'buying' favourable cup ties.

Yes, it's exactly as it sounds!

The Twitter user listed City's opponents from the EFL Cup, FA Cup and Champions League, believing that there is some massive conspiracy behind it.

Of course, it's not like the tweet has not gone unnoticed by football fans and, as you would probably expect, some of the responses are brilliant.

City boss Pep Guardiola took a swipe at Jürgen Klopp after Liverpool suffered a 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers and were knocked out of the FA Cup.

"I don't know [if fewer games give Liverpool an advantage] -- I don't have a theory from my experience about that," he said (via the Metro).

"If everyone is fit and not injured, we can cope with it. The problem is if you have ten injured players, then it's almost impossible.

"I prefer it [being involved in four competitions], definitely. I like to be in the four competitions as far as possible. When Wigan put us out of the FA Cup last season, I was sad. I take the cups seriously.

"I'm not involved in what my opponents do. The reality for Jürgen [Klopp] is he knows exactly what happened."

Will Liverpool win the Premier League title?
