Luke Chambers shared a wholesome interview with Trent Alexander-Arnold after making his full Liverpool debut.

On Thursday night, Jurgen Klopp handed Chambers his first Liverpool start as the Reds took on French Ligue 1 side Toulouse in the Europa League.

Under the lights at Anfield, Liverpool thrashed their opponents 5-1 thanks to goals from Diogo Jota, Wataru Endo, Darwin Nunez, Ryan Gravenberch and Mohamed Salah.

For Chambers, it was a moment he will never forget as he managed 67 minutes before being replaced by fellow academy graduate Calum Scanlon.

After the final whistle, the 19-year-old shared a wholesome interview alongside Alexander-Arnold.

Chambers told TNT Sports: “It is unbelievable. I have dreamt of this moment since I was six years old. To top it off with a win, I am lost for words. I loved every minute of it.”

Alexander-Arnold added: “I saw it was seven years yesterday since it was my debut. I still know exactly how it feels, that excitement you work so hard for.

“He has put in all the hard work; he has shown himself. He has been outstanding, he has been in and around the team, on and off the pitch. He plays amazing football as well, so it is amazing to see him out there. He has great potential.”

Chambers then said: “I have come through the academy. Watching Trent come through it gives us academy lads a stepping stone to try and recreate it.

“I couldn’t ask for someone to look up to better. It’s amazing.”

During his post-match press conference, Klopp said: “I wouldn't say Luke is in the moment in a top, top, top shape because of the injury and because of another little setback.

“But we 100 per cent believe in him and trust him, and I wanted to show that tonight.”

Chambers could be in line to get more minutes in the near future as Andy Robertson continues to recover from shoulder surgery.
