Leroy Sane has already made his feelings clear on Jurgen Klopp ahead of a potential transfer to Liverpool.

The Reds have reportedly made Sane their top transfer target to replace Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool turned down Saudi Arabia's advances for Salah, who was subject to a whopping £150 million bid from Al Ittihad.

Despite failing in their pursuit for the Egyptian winger during the summer transfer window, the Saudi Pro League are expected to make another bid.

It's claimed that Liverpool expect to lose Salah at the end of this season as they look to cash in on their superstar player.

Sane, who enjoyed a spell in the Premier League with Manchester City, has already been lined up as the 31-year-old's replacement.

And ahead of potentially linking up with Klopp at Liverpool, he's already made his feelings clear on his fellow countryman.

The German boss is a long-term admirer of the 27-year-old and had hoped to sign him for Liverpool before the player's transfer to Man City.

He has no regrets over his transfer decision, but has a lot of respect for Klopp.

Speaking in an interview in 2018, Sane said: "Yes, I was also talking with them.

"Jurgen was calling me too, talking to me. That was before I joined City. He did a good job at [Borussia] Dortmund - I met him when he was there. He’s a good guy, nice guy - honest. He [has] worked well with Liverpool."

Klopp wanted Sane at Borussia Dortmund, too. Sane added: "Yes, there was a time when I was still in the academy that I could have gone there from Schalke but there was no thoughts at all to move to a rival.

"I have no regrets at all."

Sane spent four seasons at the Etihad - with his final campaign marred by an injury.

He played 135 games for the club, scoring 39 goals.

He then moved to Bayern Munich in 2020 and is in his fourth season at the club.
