Fans claim Champions League draw is 'rigged' as Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe theory emerges

Fans claim Champions League draw is 'rigged' as Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe theory emerges

Fans on social media aren't happy with the Champions League draw.

Fans are convinced the Champions League draw was 'rigged' following the blockbuster ties that were drawn.

Arsenal were paired with Bayern Munich and holders Manchester City were drawn against Real Madrid.

The Champions League quarter-final draw also threw up Paris Saint-Germain vs. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund.

The draw also saw the semi-final route mapped out as the winner of Arsenal vs. Bayern will face the winner of Real vs. Man City.

That means the winner of Atletico vs. Dortmund will meet the winner of PSG vs. Barca, setting up a potential Kylian Mbappe vs. Erling Haaland showdown at Wembley Stadium.

But the draw has come under fire by angry fans on social media as they made their feelings clear.

They reckon it was 'rigged' as the four favourites are on one side, with Arsenal and Man City supporters bemoaning their respective draw.

One X user wrote: "This is literally rigged how are all favorites on the same side again. they are forcing this underdog run gimmick so hard."

A second tweeted: "Bring on Bayern Munich! But you can’t tell me champions league isn’t rigged? Madrid vs city ??? Loool"

An Arsenal fan added: "I just knew we were going to get Munich the Champions League draw is rigged."

A fourth said; "Arsenal Bayern, City Madrid... come on fix it in a less obvious way."

Another commented: "Rigged against Arsenal lol."

The Champions League quarter-final ties will take place next month.

The first legs are scheduled for April 8 and April 9 while the second legs are set for April 16 and April 17.

The semi-finals are then slated for late April and early May, with the final taking place on June 1 in London.
