Laura Woods breaches Instagram rules after brutal reply to fan who sent abuse

Woods couldn't believe her comment was removed.

Laura Woods has breached Instagram's 'community guidelines' for her 'brutal' response to an angry West Ham fan.

The former talkSPORT presenter, who has been tipped to replace Jake Humphrey on BT Sport's newly rebranded TNT Sports, bit back at a Hammers supporter after he criticised Arsenal's signing of Declan Rice.

The Gunners agreed a £105 million fee with West Ham to sign the 24-year-old, but it seems not all parties are happy with the agreement, after one particularly sore fan made his feelings known to Woods.

The row started when Woods appeared in Adidas' video to announce Rice's move to Arsenal. Speaking on a made-up YouTube show named 'Transfer Talk with Laura Woods', she said: "Well, our sources are telling us that the deal to Arsenal is close, but will they get it over the line?"

The video included a star-studded cast including current players Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Alessia Russo and Gabriel Jesus, along with rapper Stormzy and Gunners legend Ian Wright.

Rice capped off the video by turning to the camera in full Arsenal kit, saying: "Yes Gunners, north London is home now." Woods later shared the video on her Instagram and wrote: "He's here... and he's perfect."

However, one of her followers was quick to reply: "Embarrassing messing about by a pathetic club who know they've deliberately unsettled a player and now want him on the cheap because they know he's another [Harry] Maguire, barely worth half what they have agreed to pay."

Woods, clearly confused by the comment, replied: "None of this makes any sense. Want him on the cheap? Just paid over £100m for him you sausage."

Hilariously, Instagram deemed her comment inappropriate and deleted her reply. "Your comment goes against out Community Guidelines on hate speech or symbols," read Instagram's warning.

"Our guidelines encourage people to express themselves in a way that's respectful to everyone. If you think we made a mistake, you can ask us to review our decision."

Woods then shared the warning to her story, with the caption: "Is 'sausage' classed as hate speech these days?" alongside a crying laughing face.

Despite Instagram's intervention, it is safe to say the 36-year-old's 'sausage' remark shouldn't damage her chances of landing the TNT job she has been heavily linked to.
