Real Madrid Player Goes Missing After Champions League Final

He clearly wasn't in the mood for celebrating!

There was a real party atmosphere at the Bernabeu last night and rightly so. Real Madrid players, staff and fans were in good cheer after winning the Champions League but one member of the squad wasn't there.

It's been mentioned a lot but such is the gravity of Real Madrid's achievement on Saturday it deserves being mentioned again, they became the first club to defend the Champions League when they beat Juventus 4-1 on Saturday.

The victory was also the third time in four years and the 12th time in history that Los Blancos have won the competition either in it's current guise or as the European Cup as it was before 1992.

So the party at the Bernabeu was well deserved when they arrived back in Madrid on Sunday and Cristiano Ronaldo in particular was in the mood to celebrate, singing about his imminent Ballon d'Or victory.

However it wasn't a great weekend for every Real player. James Rodriguez, for example, made the travelling squad but wasn't in the final 18 for the match. And neither was Fabio Coentrao who didn't even make the celebrations and reportedly went missing.

According to Spanish paper Marca the Portuguese left back went missing somewhere after getting to the final, "the full-back did leave the hotel and went to the stadium for the final, but there was no trace of the Portuguese international thereafter."

Coentrao wasn't on the pitch celebrating with his teammates after the game and when the trophy and the squad returned to Spain he was nowhere to be seen yet again, no showing the Bernabeu celebrations.

Lucas Vazquez, Pepe and Rodriguez were all pictured holding the trophy despite not making the bench on Saturday but things were different for the full-back.

The 29 year-old is expected to sign for Sporting CP on loan for the season soon and has only played three times in the league all season.

That's if anyone can find him of course...
