Batista & NWO To Enter WWE Hall Of Fame In 2020

Batista & NWO To Enter WWE Hall Of Fame In 2020

WWE legends Batista and the New World Order (nWo) have been announced as the first Hall of Fame picks for the Class of 2020.

US publication People have exclusively revealed that 'The Animal' is set to enter the Hall of Fame while ESPN have broken the nWo news.

Batista, real name Dave Bautista, is a six time WWE World Champion and main evented two Wrestlemania events.

He's also won two Royal Rumbles and had many iconic feuds with superstars such as John Cena, Triple H and The Undertaker.

"Vince [McMahon] called me personally to ask me, I was just ... I wasn't surprised, but I was pretty happy. It's a good feeling, it's a really great feeling."

He'll be joined by the nWo who's members include Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman.

This is the second time that all four men will be entering the prestigious hall.

Hogan was first inducted in 2005, Hall in 2014, Nash in 2015 and Waltman earlier this year.

The nWo were the star faction of World Championship Wrestling throughout the mid 90's, and were the driving factor behind WCW's dominance in the Monday Night War's with WWE.

"You've got four guys that were basically going at Vince as a shoot, pushing hard to actually try to take over," Hogan told ESPN.

"Not put him out of business but basically take his spot and be the No. 1 company. All of a sudden, you're inducting four guys in the Hall of Fame that 20 years ago were trying to stab you in the back. It's like Vince says: In the WWE, never say never."

Hogan's betrayal of WCW and siding with The Outsiders (Hall & Nash) at Bash at the Beach 1996 is one of the most shocking moments in wrestling history.

Hogan turned heel for the first time while under the 'Hulkamania' moniker and it sent shockwaves throughout the industry.

The five men will be inducted on April 2 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida as part of Wrestlemania week.
