Brock Lesnar And Matt Riddle Reportedly Have 'Verbal Altercation' Backstage

Brock Lesnar and Matt Riddle has stern words backstage at the Royal Rumble that had nothing to do with the script, according to reports in Houston.

NXT superstar Riddle has had his run ins with major superstars before, when he bumped into Goldberg ahead of Summerslam, and this time he's believed to have rubbed Lesnar up the wrong way.

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, the two men bumped into each other backstage during the Royal Rumble on Sunday night and had a 'tense encounter.'

During the 'verbal altercation,' it's said that Brock wanted to know the 'reality of the situation' between the two men after Riddle had spoken about the former UFC heavyweight champion in the past.

Just last week Riddle, himself a former UFC competitor, took to Twitter posting a picture of him in the WWE locker room with directions to Lesnar's locker room with the caption, "All I'm gonna say is watch WWE this week, [poop emoji] is about to get wild."

Sources say that the meeting backstage in Minute Maid Park in Houston was not for a storyline, although it' not been confirmed whether or not it was picked up by cameras.

That's what happened in summer last year in Toronto when Riddle bumped into former WWE champion Goldberg in the backstage area.

The Bro had been very disparaging in the past about the former WCW icon's ability inside the ring and their meeting was caught on camera and Riddle mentioned it on the WWE watchalong for that night's show too.

However after the meeting Goldberg told the press that he didn't know who Riddle was, despite the video evidence, and dismissed the change of him meeting Riddle in the ring.

The 34-year-old hasn't made it onto the main roster yet but many would like to see him in that position in the future and as a fellow former mixed martial artist want to see him beat the Beast Incarnate.

With Lesnar entering the Royal Rumble match on Sunday, despite being champion, anything is possible.
