Ronda Rousey's debut match in WWE promises to be very special indeed.

Rumours about the former UFC women's bantamweight champion making the switch to professional wrestling have been bubbling for a while, with Paul "Triple H" Levesque very vocal about bringing the 31-year old mega star in.

And long behold, after Japanese wrestler Asuka won the first ever Women's Royal Rumble and was standing in the ring opposite champions Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, Joan Jett's empowering and badass song 'Bad Reputation' played and Rousey's name lit up the screens.

Wearing the jacket of her hero, the late 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper, after it was passed on to her by his son, Rousey marched down to the ring, stared at the trio, did the mandatory point to the Wrestlemania sign before shaking the hand of Stephanie McMahon at the commentary table.

It was then announced immediately that the 31-year old had signed a full-time WWE deal, with her official contract signing with the Raw Brand to take place at the Elimination Chamber at the event this Sunday.

There has been a bit of mystery as to who Rousey will be facing at 'the grandest stage of them all' in New Orleans, but according to Justin Barrasso from Sports Illustrated, the plan is to have her involved in a star-studded mixed tag-team match - with The Expendables star and a partner slated to face the husband and wife duo of McMahon and Triple H.

Rousey got physical with the pair at Wrestlemania 31, where she made a surprise appearance alongside The Rock.

Pitting the four individuals in a mixed tag match three years down the line makes perfect sense, though it's believed The Rock, WWE's ideal partner for Ronda, is unlikely to be able to compete because of filming commitments and the fact he cannot partake in activities with a high risk of injury.

WWE's next best pick is Raw General Manager Kurt Angle, who was back in a WWE ring in November for the first time in 11 years when he replaced Roman Reigns to team with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in the TLC main event match with The Miz and The Bar.

Smackdown commissioner Shane McMahon and former world champ Seth Rollins are the other options WWE are considering.
