Fair play.

Conor McGregor trash talked his way through press conferences, throwing insults and accusations at his opponent, Khabib Nurmagomedov, in one of the feistiest build-ups ever.

But the Russian had the last say, beating him in the fourth round to retain his lightweight crown.

The whole rivalry had been personal from the moment that Khabib had approached Artem Lobov, which led to McGregor's confrontation with the bus.

All of that continued in the pre fight build up with the former lightweight and featherweight champions taking shots at Khabib for his political allegiance and at the Russian's manager for his past.

It got nasty, to say the least, but Khabib's father has now issued a statement following his son's win.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov has said that he forgives Conor for everything that happened in the past, which says so much about the man himself.

As we all know, Khabib jumped the cage moments after his win and attacked McGregor's coach, Dillion Danis.

Seconds later, three people from Khabib's team were arrested after attacking his opponent. McGregor decided against pressing charges, partially because of his involvement in the incident, but Nurmagomedov's father was far from impressed.

Speaking to Russian outlet Ren TV, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov revealed how annoyed he is at his son, saying:

"I will be very hard on this. I warned him. For me, discipline comes first. You do whatever you want in the octagon but outside this is the border of civilians where there are children, women and strangers." he said.

"Over the octagon should be a peaceful existence."

UFC president Dana White revealed it wasn't him or the company the Khabib had to worry about when it came to discipline but the Nevada Athletic Commission saying:

"The Nevada State Athletic Commission is going to go after him pretty hard. He doesn't have to worry about me, he has to worry about them.

"The Governor was here tonight and he went running out of the building. He's in big trouble."
