McIntyre, who earned his shot at Lesnar after winning the Royal Rumble back in January, hit his finisher, the claymore kick, straight out of the blocks but Lesnar kicked out of the pinning position.
The Scotsman tried to hit a second of the shots straight after but Lesnar got out of the way and the former UFC heavyweight champion then went on the attack.
After hitting two German suplexes the 42-year-old hit three F5s on McIntyre. One is often enough to put an opponent away but the former 'Chosen One' kicked out of all three, the first getting just a one count.
The former ICW World Heavyweight champion quickly turned things back in his favour and hit three claymores in a row to earn the three count and win him the WWE title for the first time in his career.

McIntyre first joined WWE in 2007 and was introduced by Vince McMahon as 'The Chosen One' on his television debut on Smackdown in 2009 but he failed to reach the expected heights.
He was released by the company in 2014 after five years that did see him win the Intercontinental and tag team titles but didn't get him close to the world title picture.
After a stint back on the independent scene, where he took his game to a new level, he was signed back to WWE on NXT in 2017 and captured the title on the third brand.
At the Royal Rumble earlier this year he eliminated Lesnar, who had got rid of the first 13 competitors in the match, before going on to win the match.
His win at WrestleMania 36 cements his place in WWE history and is the culmination of this part of a brilliant story. Who will be his first title challenger?
