Brock Lesnar successfully retained the WWE Championship in a ruthless squash match against ex-UFC foe Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel.

Former two-time UFC heavyweight champ Velasquez, 37, stunned the WWE universe when he made an appearance on SmackDown's 20th anniversary episode and attacked Lesnar.

WWE booked their blockbuster clash for Crown Jewel and it opened the PPV at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Velasquez showed early signs that he could create a stunning upset at Crown Jewel when he planted Lesnar to the floor and unleashed a flurry of strikes on him.

But the quick-witted WWE champ locked in his Kimura Lock on Velasquez and made him tap out in just over two minutes into the match.

Lesnar continued to assault Velasquez after the match with a steel chair before Rey Mysterio, who accompanied the former UFC star down to the ring, confronted the 'Beast.'

But WWE fans are far from happy about the time and finish for the match and have flocked to social media to vent their anger.
