He's just a sexy boy, he's not your boy toy. Well more specifically he's a fully fledged grown up. HBK Shawn Michaels has got rid of his ponytail and it's making us all feel pretty old.

You might be old enough to remember Shawn Michaels first stint in the WWE or you might be slightly younger and only remember him from the remarkable return that came four years after a back injury forced him to retire the first time.

Watch our video on some of WWE's most iconic catchphrases:

Whichever HBK is your HBK there's one thing that Mr Wrestlemania never changed, his wonderful hair. Whether it was throwing Marty Jannetty through a barbershop window, losing to Stone Cold at Wrestlemania 14, returning against HHH at Summerslam 2002 or retiring vs Undertaker at Mania 26, Michaels has always had long hair.

But now the Heartbreak Kid has gone all grown up and had the ponytail lobbed off with Wrestlemania 34 just days away and it's made us all feel very old, we only hope he mouthed 'I'm sorry. I love you' before the barber chopped it off, and that the barber had fixed his window that had a Jannetty shaped hole in it:

Michaels built up quite the reputation for putting on the best match at the Show of the Immortals over the years, hence his Mr Wrestlemania moniker, and it's just been the 10 year anniversary of his match with Ric Flair, the Nature Boys' last in a WWE ring.

Speaking exclusively to SPORTbible recently Flair revealed the infamous 'I'm sorry. I love you' wasn't pre planned, saying, "That wasn't planned at all. That is a moment I'll never forget. You can't plan something like that. I think it's how he felt. We're extremely close friends. I'm honoured that he grew up admiring me, as did Triple H, and took me there with him in that moment. You can't rehearse something like that."

Now we're off to remember Michaels how he should be remembered, with long hair!

God we're all old now aren't we. Still, can't wait for Mania on Sunday, that'll never change.
