The Rock Gives Jorge Masvidal Advice On How To Beat Kamaru Usman
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson says that Jorge Masvidal just needs to 'quiet the noise around him' and he'll beat Kamaru Usman on Saturday night at UFC 251.
The former WWE champion got to see Masvidal up close in Gamebred's most recent fight, against Nate Diaz at UFC 244, and presented the 35-year-old with the BMF title after his win.
Now Masvidal gets to add the welterweight title to his collection at UFC 251 when he faces Kamaru Usman and the Rock has some excellent advice for how UFC's 'baddest motherf**ker' can beat the Nigerian Nightmare.
"No I think that, while I haven't been in the octagon, I've been in some pretty big professional wrestling matches with a big global eye on me.
"So I think what Masvidal has to do is quiet the noise around him. Quiet the noise around him because, the moment he took this fight, you just get thrust back into the spotlight.
"You get pulled in a thousand different directions and everyone turns to you, their energy turns to you for answers and they need answers, and you need to decide and decide and decide.

"And then you have to train, and you have to prepare, and he's probably just having to think 24/7. And all of a sudden your energy just goes [down], just like this.
"So I think he just has to quiet the noise, get over there, it's been very hot over there also too. These guys have to quarantine for a couple of days and then they've got to cut, try and make weight within a few hours and then they're fighting.
"So he's got to quiet the noise and just remember that Jorge Masvidal needs to do exactly what he was born to do, which is fight his ass off. And if he does these things, everything else is going to fall into place."
Masvidal will have had a lot to contend with in a short amount of time as he was only given six days notice to prepare for the fight.
Originally Usman was due to fight Gilbert Burns but the Brazilian tested positive for Covid-19, leaving Masvidal to cut 20 lbs in less than a week, which he managed to do on Friday, weighing in at 170 lbs.
