Khabib Nurmagomedov Swims Against The Current In Training

Khabib Nurmagomedov has come up with yet another way to show off his physical prowess by spending his weekend swimming upstream in a river.

The lightweight champion is 28-0 in the ring and no one looks like stopping him anytime soon. The Russian has been known to fight bears but now he's even fighting with nature.

On the weekend Khabib was videoed swimming against the current whilst in training, no easy task.

After fighting Mother Nature, which might be one fight that 'the Eagle' actually finds difficult to win, it's expected that next up for Khabib will be a title defence against Tony Ferguson.

The two men have been due to fight each other on four previous occasions, before Nurmagomedov became champion, but on every occasion one or the other has had to pull out for differing reasons.

On Saturday ESPN's Ariel Helwani made the claim that Khabib vs Ferguson would be the champion's next opponent saying, "Do I know Khabib? Yes, I have met him multiple times.

"What is going on with Tony Ferguson? I suspect that Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib is going to happen March or April and I'm hearing that New York City is being discussed."

That fight is expected to take place either at the Barclays Center or Madison Square Garden.

There has previously been talk about Khabib having a rematch with Conor McGregor, who hasn't fought since losing to the Russian nearly a year ag. But speaking last week the champion didn't sound like he was ready to share the octagon with the Irishman yet, saying, "I'm not ready to shake his hand right now.

"Everyone makes mistakes. There are no perfect people, everyone has flaws. I have flaws and so does he.

"When a person continues to behave this way, it means that it's his nature. We saw that he recently hit a 70-year-old man. It shows a lack of morality and manners.

"So I'm not ready to shake his hand until he realises something."

There really isn't many people left for Khabib to beat in the lightweight division, he's beaten a bear, if he beats Mother Nature then Ferguson's got a lot to worry about.

Can Tony Ferguson beat Khabib?
