Conor McGregor has responded to Tony Ferguson calling him out, after Khabib Nurmagomedov pulled out of the main event of UFC 249.

Ferguson and Khabib were due to meet in the octagon on April 18th but the Russian confirmed on Wednesday that he will no longer be competing as he's grounded in Russia due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Unsurprisingly El Cucuy wasn't happy with the situation, calling for Khabib to be stripped of his lightweight title, and criticised both the Eagle and rival McGregor.

The Irishman has taken to Twitter to respond, claiming the two men who were meant to compete in just over two weeks were playing a game of chicken.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani, after the champ pulled out of the fight, Ferguson said, "I'm a hitman. Khabib and Conor running around with their tails between their legs like a f**king dog. I run with the dog's man, and these guys ain't dog. They're a bunch of p**sies. Khabib's a b*tch. I told him I was gonna mop the f***ing floor with his hat, the dude jammed out.

"Whether or not it's Khabib, whether or not it's Conor, I'm all for just whooping somebody's ass. I already beat the top five in the round-robin, and now they want me to reset and give me another top five? I don't f***ing think so. I'm the champion already."

Former two weight UFC champion McGregor has really proved why he is known as 'Mystic Mac' as back in January he was predicting that the fight between Ferguson and Khabib wouldn't go ahead.

Speaking to TMZ earlier in the year UFC president Dana White said, "Here's the thing - realistically, Conor believes that Khabib vs. Tony Ferguson will not happen.

"We've tried to do this fight many, many times. Conor believes it won't happen.

"Conor wanted to do this [Donald Cerrone at UFC 246] fight at 170 because he wants to turn right around and jump right in and fight Khabib if that fight doesn't happen."

The world pandemic though means that despite saying he's ready, and actually being prepared for this fight for months, it won't be the Notorious facing Ferguson in a couple of weeks time.
