Like the rest of us Conor McGregor is social distancing himself but literally nothing will stop him from taking shots at his rival Nate Diaz.

McGregor and Diaz have one of the best and most heated rivalries in UFC history, with both of the pairs fights becoming instant classics and being in UFC's own list of best ever fights.

Seeing the two go at it in a trilogy fight would be high on a lot of people's lists of fights they'd most like to see but for now we'll have to enjoy their rivalry on social media instead.

The Notorious was trying to keep himself entertained during this period of social distancing with maths puzzles online and instead ended up insulting the Stockton Slugger's intelligence.

Whilst the current situation means we've no idea when McGregor might be back in the octagon his other fierce rival will still have his next fight.

Khabib Nurmagomedov, who beat McGregor in October 2018, is due to defend his lightweight title against Tony Ferguson at UFC 249.

It is scheduled for April 19th but no one is sure where it will take place yet. With most sporting events cancelled, including all other UFC cards, it's likely to behind closed doors somewhere.

Defending his choice to still go ahead with the event Dana White spoke to Yahoo Sports, saying, "Listen, there's people I care about what they think of me - my employees, my family, my friends. The rest of the people I don't give a [expletive] what you think of me.

"One thing I do know is I'm not wrong. I know I'm right. I know it's the right thing to do.

"I'm doing this because it's what should be done. It has nothing to do with the money. It's about what needs to happen. Like I just told you, I can do [distancing] forever.

"People need some normalcy again. We need somebody to be the first guy to step forward and say, 'Come on guys, let's snap back and get going.'"

Along with WWE's WrestleMania, which has been filmed at the company's Performance Centre with now crowd, UFC 249 would be the only major sporting to go ahead during the Covid-19 outbreak.
