Former UFC Strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk suffered a nasty injury during her bout against Michelle Waterson on Saturday night.

The 32-year-old appeared to break her foot "at the end of the second or third round" at UFC Fight Night 161, but she somehow managed to pick up the victory via unanimous decision.

Jedrzejczyk's thoughts on the broken foot after her victory says so much about the fearless Polish fighter.

"I think I broke (my foot) at the end of the second or third round," Jedrzejczyk said post-fight.

"In the fifth round, I was like, 'OK, I shouldn't kick with this foot.' I felt pain, but then I was like, '(Expletive) it. What worse can happen? I'm going to break it in three pieces? They're going to put it back together. That's it.' It's a tough business."

Images of her bruised foot soon emerged online and it's not a pretty sight.

Jedrzejczyk is currently on a journey to win back the title, currently held by Weili Zhang, and she confirmed her plans to challenge for the belt.

"That's what's next." she confirmed. "I had a few interviews with the Chinese outlets and they asked me about that fight. They are super pumped. They want this fight to happen in Poland.

"Let's do it in the National Stadium for 60,000 people. Let's wait for spring. I will heal my foot. Of course, Weili is the champ, it's her decision but let's make this happen. I'm ready. More than ready."
