UFC superstar Conor McGregor has shared a video of him tirelessly working the pads as he continues to ramp up his training ahead of UFC 246.

The 31-year-old Irishman will make his sensational MMA return in his welterweight bout against Donald Cerrone in Las Vegas on 18th January.

And McGregor, who hasn't fought since his devastating defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018, has now shown exactly why fans should be excited about his return.

The 'Notorious' uploaded a video to his Instagram of him in the octagon with members from his camp as he works the pads hard.

McGregor delivers thundering left and right uppercuts to the pad during one part of his training, while another moment has him throwing powerful body shots while dancing around the octagon.

The Irish MMA superstar wrote to his 33.4m followers: "Pad work at the UFC P.I Clean work at the gym with my team while DJ Bissett blasts the tunes!"

And fans have also shared their excitement about McGregor making his hotly-anticipated UFC return next week.

Instagram user abe.vargas_ wrote: "LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO!!! my man Conor gonna K.O. Cowboy easily."

While another McGregor fan posted: "Champ s**t only! The Champ is back."

A third person said: "Lookin smooth."

While user emskijo82 added: "Beyond excited to see you back in the ring soon."

McGregor's coach, John Kavanagh, claimed last week that his fighter is at the 'best he has ever seen him' and that he didn't think it was "possible to do 6 months ago."

McGregor, who reportedly wants three fights in 2020 as part of his UFC comeback, has continued to tease fans by posting snaps of his ripped physique on social media in recent months.

But some of the images have caused quite a stir with fans, who have raised their concerns about his new physique ahead of the Cerrone fight.
