There have been seven knockouts via spinning backfists in the history of UFC but there's no denying that Steven Peterson is responsible for the most insane.

At Fight Night 159 in Mexico City back in September, Peterson and opponent Martin Bravo turned the Octagon into a Beyblades arena when they both spun around in the second round.

Bravo attempted a spinning backfist, only for Peterson to counter in phenomenal fashion with an better version of the move - catching the Mexican right on the money and knocking him to the canvas.

Peterson moved to 18-9 in MMA and admitted it was the best knockout he had ever produced.

"There was "(That was my best knockout), 100 percent," Peterson told MMA Junkie post-fight at Mexico City Arena. "I've never had an out-cold knockout in my MMA career of 26 pro fights."

He refuted claims that he conjured up the best knockout of 2019, however, giving props to Jorge Masvidal for his fastest knockout in UFC history at the hands of Ben Askren.

"Man, I would love to get knockout of the year, but I can't beat Jorge Masvidal's knockout," he told TMZ.

"You can't beat the flying knee knockout. I bet I'll get runner up, and I'm happy with that. I'm ecstatic to have runner up behind Jorge Masvidal."
