Conor McGregor Buys Pub Where He Assaulted A Man And Immediately Bars His First Person

UFC superstar Conor McGregor has managed to snap up the establishment where he was involved in an altercation with an elderly man in 2019.

The 32-year-old Irishman grabbed headlines as CCTV caught the moment where he assaulted Des Keogh at The Marble Arch in Drimnagh, Dublin.

According to reports, McGregor was involved in the physical altercation after the then-50-year-old turned down a shot of his 'Proper Twelve' whiskey.

The 'Notorious' was convicted of assault in November 2019 and was ordered to pay an £860 (€1,000) fine, along with issuing an apology to Mr Keogh.

However, The Currency reports that McGregor is now in the process of purchasing The Marble Arch for around a whopping £1.7m.

The Currency chief executive Tom Lyons broke the story, which prompted McGregor on social media to hilariously ban the man from the pub.

"Ye and your mans barred," he tweeted.

McGregor admitted that he was in the wrong over his incident with Mr Keogh, saying that the "man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub."

The future UFC Hall of Famer told ESPN in 2019: "It doesn't matter what happened there -- I was in the wrong.

"That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without having it end the way it did."

McGregor made his sensational return to the octagon in January, but he suffered a shock second-round TKO defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi.

The former UFC dual champ is expected to return to action in July at UFC 264 as he will complete his trilogy of fights with MMA rival Poirier.

UFC president Dana White revealed that the third McGregor vs Poirier fight was almost cancelled only days before its official announcement.

"There was a lot of chance that was going to fall apart," he told The Sports Network.

"I saw some conspiracy theorists saying that was done to promote the fight -- absolutely none of that was done to promote the fight, I can assure you of that.

"We had to go back and forth; we've been doing this for 20 years and this is what we do, we get it done."
