UFC fighter Gabriel Benitez suffered a horrifying injury to shin last night, with the Mexican's bone visible.
Benitez lost to Omar Morales by decision in the prelims on UFC Fight Night 175 in Jacksonville and was left with a nasty, deep wound as a result.
The BT Sport cameras did a close up on the sickening wound, with his shin bone visible on his left leg. The laceration came about in the second round and stemmed from a series of shin-to-shin action through leg kicks thrown.
Somehow, Benitez was able to continue to fight and produce even more kicks despite his shin being completely spit open.

Just for reference, colour commentator Paul Felder summarised the visual that was being shown on the screen for all viewers to see: "In case you don't know how the body works, that there is a shin bone behind that skin that is peeled apart."
Warning: Gruesome injury alert:
The 31-year old was seemingly almost proud to show off his war wound, taking to Instagram to post an image of the huge cut - complete with the caption: "Real power kick".
Despite the incredible fighting spirit shown, 'Moggly' lost on the scorecards and has now lost two successive fights inside the Octagon.
